Sundance films from that last couple years

It's been a while since I wrote about Sundance and the films I've seen there. I wanted to start writing them down so I don't forget (which I have started to already).
Last year, 2018, I saw these films:
  • Minding the Gap
  • Searching
  • The Devil We Know
  • Inventing Tomorrow
  • Won't You Be My Neighbor
My favorite was probably Searching, followed closely by Won't You Be My Neighbor. Searching is a dramatic thriller starring John Cho, and the movie is mostly told through device screens- laptops, FaceTime, Skype, iphones, Facebook posts, videos, other social media sites, etc. It tells the story of a missing daughter mystery and all the worry and effort of a parent to find her. And as with a good mystery it has a few plot twists and surprises.
Won't You Be My Neighbor is a documentary about Fred Rogers and his show Mr. Rogers. It is a touching, sentimental look at the tv show, but open and honest about the man. I loved it.
At the Sundance festival 2017, I am having a really hard time remembering what films I saw. The only one that stands out is ICARUS, and it is outstanding. It is a documentary about Brian Fogel who wants to be a successful cyclist. He discusses and decides to delve into the world of athletes doping. He tries it himself and documents his experience, but then the film turns to another character the director of the Russian anti-doping agency and follows his amazing story and exposing the doping problem in Russia (and implies throughout the world).
